This is a 1776 Betsy Ross vintage tea stained replica of the first official American flag. This 17 wide and 28 high flag is made with top quality cotton and embroidered stars. The Betsy Ross design was commissioned by George Washington in 1776. Betsy accepted the job to manufacture the flag, altering the committees design by replacing the six-pointed stars with five-pointed stars. Of course, the 13 stars represented the 13 original colonies. The flag continues to be one of the most popular symbols of the American Revolution. Important note: Due to the nature of the tea staining process, each flags coloration is unique, and the normally white stripes have a golden hue. The coloring of this flag is similar to the tea stained flag pulls and buntings. ColorfastOutdoor Safe treatment minimizes color bleeding. Some color bleeding may be experienced if used outdoors, however it will minimize over time. All flags, regardless of material, weather over time when exposed to the elements of nature. Length of exposure, combined with the type of elements each flag is exposed to will have varying impact on its durability. Please note that returns will not be accepted on flags due to weathering concerns. Additionally, the sizing is approximate. Due to the drying process the flags do shrink in size.
